PATHLINGS

Are you familiar with the term earthling? The word pathling is something I use to describe arrangements of natural objects on the path. Things that come to be together.

Because we, as people, are the product of a collision and an entry process, we are creative arrangements of genetic material that happen along the way. We are of the earth. We come to earth. We return to earth. We are earthlings.

A pathling is an occurence, a composition of sticks or leaves and may be a single unit or a grouping of like or disparate items. They are like accidents, and there are no accidents. They are designs from the universal mind. I think they are pornographic in the sense it is difficult to describe, but I know one when I see it.

URBAN PATHLINGS are things that people create, such as dropped lists, business cards or gestures with things they have left behind. These may mix with natural objects, which are rarer in the city.

I am intrigued and wonder why so few comments for what may well be genius as well as a kind of madness. Please let me watch you for a while, I will be no trouble . . . promise.

I understand completely about pathlings. Witches and gypsies (proper Rromi gypsies, not imposter travellers) have a way of laying natural signs – twigs, dead birds and such – to communicate with others. Think crossed twigs = meeting place.

I look forward to your future ramblings very much.
