Berks County Parks and Recreation held its annual Go Fly a Kite Day on a Saturday this year, which happened to be today. The string fastening station in tent two of the sled kite workshop was my volunteer post. Nice day, sun with a decent lofty wind.
Walked along the Tulpehocken creek afterwards. The Unitd States Geological Survey monitors might be registering high levels of water in the creek today, it looked full to me. The bottom was not visible and neither were herons. A couple of half-pint sized chickdees flitted in and around a bush and I marvelled at a piece of oak with immature leaves and a bud that looked like a miniature full-grown tree with an acorn. I also wanted to swat the runner that ran too close to me .
