A Fortune!


     There is something to be said for the experience of warming sunshine and cooling autumn breezes under everlasting clear blue skies.

   The palette of the woods is 99 per cent green; the other percent comes in dots and clumps of yellow (wild aster and goldenrod), with some blue through lavender gradations (again from the aster) and true blue (belonging to a few stems of chicory.)

   No herons, just a few enormous blue jays and at the edge of one cornfield, a spray of blue, black and white feathers form .
